Thoughts

Thought Monsters! (I'm hoping to make a book with illustrations for this)
Did you know that you have Bad Thought Monsters living in your head? They like to tell you things that are not true, make you worry when you really shouldn't, and even make you angry!
The "Bad Thought Monsters" might say things like ,"You're not good enough", "WHAT IF you fail?", "Well, it is against the rules, BUT no one will find out", or "Don't let him get away with that- hurt him back!"
Sometimes, you may feel like listening to those thought monsters in your head. They have a way of making you believe them. But don't let them take over! They only want to make you feel unhappy or get you in trouble. They know it's not God's way of handling life.
Instead of listening to them, you can DEFEAT them! You also have a superhero in your head named "Super Mind"! He knows all the tricks that those mean Thought Monsters try to throw at you. SuperMind can help you put those thoughts back where they belong- behind bars! (Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ -2 Cor 10:5) Let's see how he does it!
Step 1: Put on the Armor of God. You will need your Belt of Truth to fight against the lies. Breastplate of righteousness to guard your heart. You will need shoes to walk in. You will need a Helmet to protect your good thoughts, a shield to defend against the arrows, a sword to fight back. And dont forget your Thought Box for when you defeat your thought monsters! Ask for God's protection as you face the monsters.
Step 2: Find the Bad Thought Monster. They can be tricky, hiding behind things like feelings... Look carefully, can you see a Bad Thought Monster? When you find him, don't run from him- stare him down to let him know he's being watched. Bad Thought Monsters get nervous when they get stared down without making you run away.
Step 3: Fight against them! They may shoot...
What-If Arrows: Use your shield to block them (who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?)
Criticism Cannons: Keep your feet planted.
Past Problem Pistols: You are a new creation! Your past no longer defines who you are.
Negativity Knives: Knock them down with positive thoughts (Phil. 4:8)
Step 4: Put the Bad Thoughts in their Place! (Take captive every though!) Sending box to obedience school?
Step 5: Thank God!
The next time you feel those Bad Thought Monsters creeping up in your head, you can fight against them and defeat them!
